Xinomavro

A wine from the "king" of northern Greece, Xinomavro and more specifically from the Velvento clone. The grapes come from vineyards located at an altitude of 400 meters, between the Pieria Mountains and Lake Polyphytos. The altitude combined with the excellent microclimate provide ideal conditions for slow and perfect ripening of the grapes. Ο συνδυασμός ποικιλίας και terroir είναι μοναδικός.

Winemaking & aging

We cultivate the Xinomavro of Velvento with love and special care to give us the best result. We closely monitor the ripening of the fruit and at the right time the grapes are picked by hand and undergo strict sorting. Then we take only the first grapes to ensure the best quality tannins and the elegance of the wine. The wine ferments in stainless steel tanks, at controlled temperatures and then matures in Balkan oak barrels for 12 months. After bottling, the wine ages for a few months in the bottle so that it reaches your glasses complete and enjoyable.

Tasting notes

It has a light ruby ​​color with greenish highlights, typical of the variety and a rich, lively nose. Aromas of cherry, sour cherry, cranberry and strawberry mingle with notes of tomato, olive and oak. It has a medium body, high acidity and moderate but noticeable, juicy tannins. In the mouth, the fresh juicy red fruit meets the botanical notes and the aromas of the barrel.
